Nestled in the heart of Utah’s picturesque Wasatch Mountain Range, Park City boasts 9,026 acres of “The Greatest Snow on Earth,” 371 runs, 53 ski lifts, more than 350 annual inches of snow and three world-class ski resorts: The Canyons Resort, Deer Valley Resort and Park City Mountain Resort. Originally founded as a silver mining town in 1869 and incorporated in 1884, Park City (population: 8,000) has evolved into a luxurious mountain resort getaway. The Canyons Resort opened in 1968 as Park West and Deer Valley Resort opened in 1981. In 1988, the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association made Park City its home. The 2002 Olympic Winter Games took place in the area. Outdoor recreational activities include skiing, snowboarding, bobsledding, ski jumping, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, hiking, mountain biking, golfing, tennis, river rafting, fly fishing and horseback riding.

Historic Main Street features quaint specialty shops, more than 100 fine dining establishments and bars, art galleries and antique stores. Sixty-four buildings in Park City are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Moviemakers, studio executives and film buffs from around the world flock to Park City each January for the annual Sundance Film Festival.
